Aim to gain insights into how Disabled People's Organisations advocate for and support disabled individuals in Ghana
Sept 2023 - Jan 2024
Global Disability Innovation Hub
This project involved engaging with 13 Disabled People's Organisations (DPOs) in Ghana and conducting in-depth interviews with four of them to understand their structures, operations, challenges, and collaborations. By examining their roles, partnerships, funding, strengths, barriers, and impact, we aim to gain insights into how these organisations advocate for and support disabled individuals in Ghana. The interviews provide an overview of the initiatives undertaken by these DPOs, offering a glimpse into disability advocacy in the country.
The core outputs are data visualisation analyses, an interactive map, and a project introduction website. My roles included Researcher, Website Designer and Video Editor.
We began by identifying and establishing contact with 13 Disabled People's Organisations (DPOs) across Ghana.
From these, four DPOs were selected for in-depth interviews based on organisational size, scope of activities, and geographical representation to ensure a diverse and representative sample.
